We’ve all heard the hullabaloo about global warming and climate change. And whether you believe it or not, the fact still remains that you can save on your utility bills and help do your bit against pollution by undertaking some simple changes in and around your home. This can include installing Double glazed windows – where two sheets of glass are separated by a thin vacuum (or gas-filled space) to reduce the amount of cool or warm air entering or leaving your house. Double glazing can mean in winter your heater is not wasting its time by warming the air only to have it escape through the glass in your windows. Or, cool air filtering into your house won’t need to be heated, thus decreasing your bills. The reverse applies in summer. The cool air is kept in, and the warm outside air is kept out. When you think about it, it makes sense. Even if you don’t care much for saving the planet, you will more than likely care for the money leaking from your pocket – and double glazing can help stem that flow.

Another area you can save money is by cutting back on the amount of maintenance you do around your property. Imagine simply enjoying your home and not planning the next painting job – and who actually likes taking doors off their hinges, painting them, and then the arguments as you try to re-hang them, lining up the screw holes and the attempts keeping the door exactly this many inches off the floor while you do it. UPVC (or unplasticised polyvinyl chloride, as opposed to PVC, or polyvinyl chloride), is gaining popularity in the construction industry, particularly UPVC doors and windows, especially when double glazed windows are installed (or, in older buildings, when single glazed windows are replaced with double glazed). UPVC is also being used in the production of fascias and soffits, meaning less upkeep. And the big plus is that they won’t warp, rot or flake, so what you get is what you’ll have in many years’ time.

You can get quotes to have your older fascias and soffits replaced with newer UPVC, and they come in a range of colours and finishes. Ensure that when you call for a quote, though, the company sources their products locally and not from overseas (especially the states) as this will help keep costs down. And the time and place has to be convenient to you. It would be best, and it would make sense, if the sales person came to you, so they can measure up and give the best price – not something they make up on the phone. They will also be able to answer any questions you have on the spot, which only goes to demonstrate their expertise!

Ethical and eco-friendly products for pets. Organic dog collars and leashes. Cat and dog treats made from natural ingredients.

There are 8 million dogs and 8 million cats in homes around the UK. That’s a lot of animals and it goes to show that we’re a nation of pet lovers. We’re also a nation that’s becoming more aware of social responsibilities including buying goods and products that are ethical and eco-friendly. With our passion for pets and our awareness of the environmental impact we’re having on the planet, it’s little wonder that ethical pet products are in such demand.

How to be an ethical pet owner

As a pet owner you naturally want to keep your cat or dog in the best of health. Just as humans benefit from natural materials and ingredients, so do animals. When buying pet supplies, products and gifts, consider what they’re made from, how they’ve been manufactured and the impact that has on the planet. You’ll be doing your pet and the environment a big favour.

Consider these factors to determine whether your pet products are ‘green’:

What materials have been used?

The manufacturing process for any product takes a toll on the environment but that can be minimised by selecting goods produced using sustainable materials. Natural materials do not deplete the planet’s resources so rapidly and a good example of this is cat litter. You can buy litter made from corn, pine, cedar and wheat. These materials can be easily composted which means less waste going to landfill or incinerators.

Also consider buying organic dog collars and leashes made from natural materials. Hemp is an ideal material because it’s hard-wearing but soft so it doesn’t rub the skin. And for dogs with sensitive skin, hemp is great because it’s hypoallergenic.

Buy pet toys that are safe

Cats and dogs love to play with toys but they can quickly destroy them with their over-exuberance. Many toys have chemical residues within the material which is bad for the environment and bad for your pet. Buy toys that are made using natural materials – they are biodegradable but also should your pet bite a piece off and swallow it, it won’t do them any harm.

These dog and cat chew toys are perfect. Made from Loofah, a fast-growing renewable resource similar to pumpkin and cucumber, the toys are great for chewing and will also help to keep you pet’s teeth clean. Dogs and cats love the smell and texture too.

Buy natural pet food and treats

As humans we’re becoming more aware of what we’re putting into our bodies and so we avoid foods grown with pesticides or manufactured using artificial colours, flavour enhancers and preservatives. You should do the same for your pets by buying natural and organic pet food that is produced using free-range meat and poultry and includes whole grains and wheat. Also, with natural pet food, meat by-products such as fats are removed.

When it comes to pampering your pet, give them organic treats which have a good source of vitamins to keep their bones and coat healthy.

Learn how to choose the right Affiliate Programs that will make dollars for you in the long run.

First of all, don’t spend any money on programs that promise you to "get rich quick". In fact, you should not spend any money at all for signing up with an affiliate program. It’s the companies that is inside the affiliate programs you might have to pay a smaller fee to but never for signing up with the programs.
To stay in an affiliate program it’s ok to pay a smaller fee but only if they offering a VERY GOOD SUPPORT.
VERY GOOD SUPPORT means: good education on how to promote, tips on how to advertise, how to make videos and upload them on for example YouTube, how to get the search engines to see your affiliate site or product, how to get traffic to your affiliate site, how to build a web site if necessary, how to build income streams, support/discussion forum where you can ask questions and get answers from experts in marketing etc etc.
Any affiliate program you decide to participate in must be willing to learn you how to earn. To learn how to promote your business is a must. If they don’t have that support, don’t sign up.

The companies in the program and the program itself should also provide you with support material like: Text links, banners in both flash and gif-animated, sales text, a good sale page to promote and other good material. If you choose to support them they should absolutely support you because you are the companies salesman.
You can achieve a good internet income without the so called "getting rich quick-programs". The odds are 99% against you that you will "get rich quick" with any of those programs.

And why is that?
Well, have you ever seen or heard how much you will have to spend on advertising to earn all that money the "getting rich quick-programs" say you can earn? A screenshot showing $50,000 earned in 60 days doesn’t mean much if you will have to spend $49,995 in advertising.
The scams are so common that many people have become wary to join a money making system. Look for the programs that doesn’t promise you huge amount of money within a couple of month or promising "fast money making".

Look for them that can make dollars for you in the long run. Think like this, and set up a goal like "the first dollars I will see on my bank account is after 4-5 month".
It demands both time and patience from you to make the first dollars. Just like any business, you’ll have to build your own business from zero.

Look what they offering in commissions, if they have any bonus program, if they pay per month. The affiliate programs and/or the companies in it will pay you only after a certain amount has been reached. If you’ve made $170 it doesn’t necessary means that you can get that amount right away. Some companies doesn’t pay until you have reached maybe $200.

No matter what other people say or what you hear about easy "fast-money-making", there are no easy ways to make money fast. But if you stay in an affiliate program long enough and continue to work hard you will finally be rewarded.

To learn how to make money online you should do a little reading. To succeed in this business you’ll have to learn from the people who are doing it right. If you are looking for that "get rich quick" miracle online, you can stop looking. There are no such program. Start to make money online with proven techniques from Internet marketing experts. What you need is the right marketing tools to earn money online. You can find all the marketing tool you need at Dollars2Make.

Ethical and fair trade Christmas gift ideas for men. Ethical Christmas presents for husbands, boyfriends, dads and male friends.

Christmas is a time when giving gives you more pleasure than receiving, especially when you’ve bought a loved one a gift you know they’ll love. The warm glow you get from the experience can be even better when you give ethical Christmas gifts.

If you’re looking for the perfect present for the man in your life, there are websites where you can buy ethical gifts that are affordable and the money you pay will go towards helping communities around the world.

Why buy fair trade and ethical Christmas presents

Goods that are marked ‘fair trade’ are produced by people and communities who are paid a higher price than if they were selling to existing markets. The extra money is usually invested in social projects to improve housing, education and health or to just improve wages.

Ethical goods are those which are produced in conditions that are safe and legal for the workers. Although things are improving, even today workers in poorer countries are exposed to unsafe working conditions with many children forced to work when they are under the legal age.

Another reason to buy ethical Christmas presents is the benefit to the environment. Ethical gifts are made using materials that are natural and sustainable. Going ‘green’ with your gifts this year can help put a stop to harmful manufacturing practices which are destroying the planet and endangering thousands of species.

Ethical gift ideas for men

There are some great ethical Christmas gifts for husbands and boyfriends such as beer glasses made from empty beer bottles. This is the ultimate in glass recycling as the ‘Grolsch’ or ‘Sol’ bottle is simply flipped upside down to create a chunky glass for your beer.

Children looking for an ethical Christmas gift for dad might like to put their pocket money toward a scented candle especially created for men.
Fairtrade, natural and eco-friendly organic baby clothes. Organic cotton baby clothing range from leading UK online retail store.

It’s not just adults who can be environmentally friendly with their clothing, ‘green’ baby clothes are readily available and there are some great reasons to go organic with your infant’s clothing. Organic baby clothes are more than just a fashion trend, they can help keep your baby healthy, safe and comfortable with the added knowledge that you’re reducing your environmental impact on the planet.

Choosing organic baby clothes

One of the great reasons to go organic with your infant’s clothing is down to the natural materials and fibres used in the manufacturing process. Many materials used in baby clothes contain dyes, pesticides and metals which are potentially harmful to a young child, particularly if they suffer with allergies. Not so with organic materials which can actually help to eliminate this risk. Child care experts also recommend organic clothing for children who suffer with skin conditions as the natural materials can significantly reduce irritation.

With that in mind, look for clothing that is made using organic cotton. This cotton is much softer and more durable than standard cotton and better for your baby’s skin than synthetic materials such as polyester. Organic cotton has also not been treated with any chemicals and the garments will be coloured and printed using environmentally-responsible plant-based or herbal-based dyes.

Where to buy organic clothing for babies

As the demand for organic children’s clothing increases, so the big companies are trying to cash in on consumers appetite for all things green. Unfortunately, many of the big retailers are putting profits ahead of ethical practices and what the customer buys isn’t always what it seems. Ethical gift websites are a great place to start in your search for ethically sourced and manufactured organic baby clothes.

When you find an online retailer, the next question to ask is how environmentally conscious is the company you’re buying from. Look for a retailer who deals with small suppliers and organic trade associations as they will check on the ethical sourcing of the products they stock. This guarantees that you are getting something that is Fairtrade, organic or eco-friendly. Try to use a reputable ethical products retailer who gives a percentage of their profits to charitable organisations or supports social causes with regular donations.

What organic baby clothes to buy

As any parent will testify, a baby requires a lot of clothing mainly due to the mess they make after feeding or when a nappy needs changing. Organic baby bodysuits and playsuits are essential babywear and there’s a beautiful range of classic and understated baby clothes available for boys and girls.

These recommended products are perfect for the fashion-conscious parent who wants quality baby clothes that will last for many years.

In every business, the customer should be considered the king. Once we realize this, we will also realize that our business is all about keeping our customers happy.

In every business, the customer should be considered the king. Once we realize this, we will also realize that our business is all about keeping our customers happy and not as much about our products and services as we might think. It is often seen that stores are lavishly designed and loaded with expensive merchandise, but without stellar customer service, this is all for nothing.

Every company should treat each and every customer like royalty. Keeping this in mind, below are some easy to apply tips that would surely bring a customer back for more:

1. Your customer service representatives are more valuable then the customer service they provide. If you think that by paying them low wages, giving no benefits and no bonuses and providing little or no customer service training you would expect them to give their best performance, then you are mistaken. A happy customer service representative usually means that they will keep your customers happy as well.

2. Your sales representative will treat your customers the same way you will treat them. The employees tend to adopt the manners of their management, the same way they take after their parents. If you would address your employees enthusiastically everyday day; so would they to the customers. When a customer complains of your representatives being rude, then the fault lies at your feet. Sales training can go a long way to help your representatives better represent your business.

3. You should know your customers inside out. We all want to feel special and important. When we go to a shop, we want to be called out by our name and the representative should remember important things about us like what our favorite color is, what our favorite meal is or what our favorite drink is. A customer service representative should know all this about his customer, if the customer comes on regular basis.

4. Do your customers know who you are? You should be so good in dealing with customers that if they see you in the market they should call you out by name. It is often seen in some firms and organizations that they put their managers and employees pictures on the main offices or store entrances so that the customers would know the face of the person who is in charge. This can increase the confidence they have in your company by associating a human face with your company.

5. For excellent customers, be prepared to go the extra mile. If a customer is regular and brings in steady money, you should make every effort to retain them. Details like thank you notes, cards and gifts will go a long way to insure they stay a customer.

At the heart of all these tips lies good employee training. For more information about business training in Perth, Sydney, Adelaide, Brisbane and throughout Australia, visit www.paramounttraining.com.au

Prevent the spread of fire, smoke and hot gases through pipework with intumescent fire collars and fire wraps.

By design, modern buildings such as apartment blocks, hotels, hospitals and retail complexes require services from water and waste pipework. Construction of these premises results in the penetration of walls and flooring to allow these pipes to travel between compartments of a building and out to the main supply or drainage. This causes an issue with fire stopping as the integrity of fire resistance of the wall and floor within the building is compromised.

When introducing passive fire protection to a building, there are two systems for sealing penetrations by plastic pipework. The systems include fire collars and fire wraps and are essential products to maintain the safety and integrity of a premises in the event of a fire.

These intumescent products are ideal for masonry or plaster applications helping to stop the spread of fire and smoke where walls and floors have been penetrated by pipe work that is combustible (i.e. plastic piping made from PVCu, HDPE, MDPE, PP, ABS). When placed on steel piping, pipe collars can also achieve a cooling effect.

A UK fire collar and fire wrap supplier will be able to provide the full safety data for these products and ship the items directly to your site. Ideally you should find a supplier whose construction products with fire performance comply with a stringent set standards above the minimum regulatory requirements.

Intumescent fire collars

During construction of a building, services such as plastic waste water pipes or plastic drainage pipes have to penetrate a structure in various locations. This compromises the fire-resistance of the walls and floors and can lead to smoke, fire and hot gases moving from one compartment (or room) to another. Intumescent fire collars are designed to re-instate that resistance.

When exposed to extreme heat from a fire, the intumescent materials within the fire collar expand and exert pressure on the pipe, closing off the opening between two compartments. This process occurs at around 150°C and crushes the melting plastic pipe closing off the penetration through the wall or floor.

Made from galvanised steel, the fire collar should be fitted to both sides of the opening where a risk of fire is present. These pipe collars are available in 2-hour or 4-hour fire-rating resistance and a range of diameters.

Fire wraps

Fire wraps work in the same way as a fire collar but are secured around a plastic pipe by means of a self-adhesive strip. This is attached to a plastic sleeve which contains the intumescent material that expands when exposed to high temperatures. Fire wraps are suitable in areas where access to the pipe is tight and like fire collars they can be used against masonry or plaster.

Available in diameters up to 160mm, these wraps can provide either 2-hours or 4-hours fire-rated resistance.

Financial spread betting is something that is commonly used to speculate which direction the share price of a stock/commodity/index will take without actually having to own or purchase any of the shares. It’s now becoming one of the UK’s most popular methods of trading. That’s hardly surprising given that any profits are completely free from stamp duty and Capital Gains and Income Tax in the UK.

Essentially, a spread bet is placed between the client and spread betting company where the bet is based on an underlying financial instrument of choice. Actual ownership of that financial instrument never takes place.

One of the principle reasons for using financial spread betting is to profit from more obscure markets than stocks and shares, such as bonds, foreign exchange, and commodities such as crude oil and gold, be they on the UK or international markets. Financial spread betting is a great way for smaller investors to trade without committing to a large financial investment.

Unlike bets in bookmakers, there are no fixed odds in spread betting, but instead a stake is betted on the direction of the market. If the trader bets that the price will rise, this is called ‘going long’, and if the better predicts the price will fall, this is called ‘going short’. Instead of direct ownership of equities in a company, the trader is betting on which direction he thinks the price will go. Any profit or loss made is determined by the difference in buy and sell (bid and offer) prices.
